Capital Punishment
Sitting in a cell 6 by 6,
Upset with life that he could never fix,
Remorse struck his heavy heart,
Closes his eyes and sees himself riding a cart,
Beside him sat this beauty so simple,
And the litle girl in his lap had a dimple,
Together the rode to a distant place,
Suddenly there is a flash of light on his face,
He opens his eyes, he is been taken somewhere,
Of guilt and punishment he has had his share,
He is sorry for the past and the mistakes he made,
No matter what, now the past cannot be changed.
Today again he is walking to a distant place,
Leaving behind that beauty and the innocent little face,
He wants them to know how much he loves them, how much he cares,
But in his past, he has not been fair,
For his past deeds he has to heavily pay,
How he wished he could find another way,
he is a changed man now; he wants the world to know,
he would never sin; he has taken a vow.
In his heart he can feel the pain,
But to let him go would not be sane,
His face is covered now, he can barely breathe,
Something put around his neck, he could feel the floor opening beneath,
He closes his eyes; Thinking about his loved ones was the toughest task,
Just Another Chance, was it too tough to ask?
